Water Data for the Nation makes high-quality water information discoverable, accessible, and usable for everyone.

The USGS works with partners to monitor, assess, and investigate the occurrence, quantity, quality, distribution, and movement of surface water and groundwater and disseminates the data to the public, State and local governments, public and private utilities, and other Federal agencies involved with managing our water resources.
