LOCATION - Lat 41°59'56.55", long 73°24'13.91" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Litchfield County, CT, Hydrologic Unit 01100005, 115 ft north of Rt. 44 and 50 ft east of Taconic Rd., 5 ft north of fence, Salisbury; Sharon quadrangle.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 28.7 ft. Upper casing diameter 2 in; top of first opening 25.7 ft, bottom of last opening 28.7 ft. Augered, unused, water-table well, PVC casing.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 816.11 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: Hacksaw marks on top of casing, 2.0 ft above land-surface datum, Dec. 12, 1986 to present; Hacksaw marks on top of casing, 818.11 ft above land-surface datum, Sep. 22, 2016 to present. Prior to September 22, 2016, land-surface datum was reported as 815 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, from topographic map.
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 1986 to current year.
GAGE - Dec. 1986 to July 2001 measurements made weekly with a chalked steel tape by a paid observer; Aug. 2001 to current year, measurements made monthly or bimonthly with an electric tape by USGS personnel. Submersible pressure transducer/data logger installed Aug. 23, 2016; collects 1-hour water-level data. Satellite telemetry at station.
