LOCATION - Lat 40°24'52.2", long 78°27'12.2" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Blair County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02050302, at Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site, and southwest of Duncansville.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 150 ft. Upper casing diameter 6 in; top of first opening 14 ft, bottom of last opening 150 ft. Drilled observation well, cased to 14 ft, open hole.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 1,134 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: top of casing, 1.8 ft above land-surface datum, Jun. 25, 1969 to Jun. 10, 1999; top of recorder shelf, 3.06 ft above land-surface datum, Jun. 10, 1999 to Jun. 2, 2011; top of recorder shelf, 3.2 ft above land-surface datum, Jun. 1, 2011 to Feb. 25, 2016; recorder shelf, 3.26 ft above land-surface datum, Feb. 25, 2016 to present. Elevation of land surface is from Lidar.
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1969 to current year.
GAGE - Data collection platform with 15-minute recording interval since April 2023; prior, 60-minute recording interval. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION - Site maintained in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Geological Survey.
