LOCATION - Lat 39°22'58.6", long 77°05'23.4" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Carroll County, MD, Hydrologic Unit 02060003, 2.3 mi northwest of Woodbine, at Gillis Falls Park.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 248 ft. Upper casing diameter 6 in; top of first opening 21 ft, bottom of last opening 248 ft. Drilled, observation, water-table well, open hole below 21 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 550 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: Top of recorder shelter platform, 2.36 ft above land-surface datum, Sep. 14, 2009 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 1980 to current year.
GAGE - Water-level measurements by U.S. Geological Survey personnel. Equipped with graphic water-level recorder December 1974 to July 1980 and digital water-level recorder October 2009 to present.
REMARKS - Maryland Groundwater-Level Monitoring Network observation well. Water levels are affected by earth tides.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level measured, 0.59 ft below land surface, March 14, 2010 (recorder); lowest measured, 5.23 ft below land surface, August 7, 1985.
