LOCATION - Lat 37°44'25", long 75°40'00" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Accomack County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 02080111, 0.2 mi northwest of intersection of State Highway 662 and U.S. Highway 13, 0.6 mi northwest of State Highway 662, and 0.9 mi east of Greenbush. Owner: Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 230 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening 220 ft, bottom of last opening 230 ft. Drilled observation water well, screened 220 to 230 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 45 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: TOP OF SHELF, 2.30 ft above land-surface datum, Jun. 4, 1996 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 1980 to current year. Unpublished records available prior to October 1987 in files of the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division.
GAGE - Electronic data logger, 15-minute record interval. July 20, 1985 to May 19, 2005, continuous strip-chart recorder. Prior to July 20, 1985, occasional measurement with chalked tape by Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division personnel.
COOPERATION - Records provided by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division.
REMARKS - Well is located in Yorktown-Eastover aquifer of Miocene-Pliocene age. Water level affected by local pumpage.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 49.40 ft below land-surface datum, June 6, 1987; lowest recorded, 88.14 ft below land-surface datum, Aug. 21, 2010.
