LOCATION - Lat 36°49'13.90", long 76°09'18.08" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Virginia Beach City, VA, Hydrologic Unit 02080208, at Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach. Owner: Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.
REVISIONS HISTORY -

WDR 2008: Daily maximums, Nov. 23, 2006 to Sept. 30, 2007. WDR 2011: Daily maximums and minimums, 2009-2010.

DAM 2025: Groundwater levels for the period Nov. 20, 2020, to Oct. 18, 2021, were revised on Mar. 27, 2025, because Measuring Point (MP-5) was taped down from when MP-6 was being entered in SVMAQ. Previous MP correction length was 2.33 ft above LSD. New corrected MP length is 3.23 ft above LSD.  This results in a 0.90 ft correction.

GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 80 ft. Upper casing diameter 3 in; top of first opening 65 ft, bottom of last opening 75 ft. Drilled observation water well, screened 65 to 75 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 13.34 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: TOP OF CASING, 1.2 ft above land-surface datum, Apr. 25, 1984 to Nov. 7, 2001; TOP OF CASING, 1.72 ft above land-surface datum, Nov. 6, 2001 to Sep. 3, 2009; TOP OF CASING, 1.65 ft above land-surface datum, Sep. 2, 2009 to Jul. 30, 2010; TOP OF CASING, 1.72 ft above land-surface datum, Jul. 29, 2010 to Oct. 19, 2011; TOP OF CASING, 2.33 ft above land-surface datum, Oct. 18, 2011 to Oct. 21, 2011; TOP OF CASING PROTECTOR PIPE, 3.23 ft above land-surface datum, Oct. 20, 2011 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1984 to current year. Unpublished records available prior to October 1985 in files of the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 60-minute record interval. July 5, 1995 to June 14, 2005, occasional measurement with chalked tape by Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division and USGS personnel. Oct. 9, 1985 to July 5, 1995, bimonthly measurement with chalked tape. Prior to Oct. 9, 1985, occasional measurement with chalked tape.
REMARKS - Well is located in Yorktown confining unit of Pliocene age.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 4.70 ft below land-surface datum, 3/1/2021; lowest measured, 18.01 ft below land-surface datum, 7/12/2017.
