LOCATION - Lat 35°11'21", long 83°54'50" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Cherokee County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 06020002, Lat 35 11'21", Long 83 54'50", (Quad 150-NE), 0.7 mi north of Marble, 75 ft west of Secondary Road 1377 in Marble. Owner: Coats American Company.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WRD-US-2011 Revised extremes for period of record for the highest water level recorded for water years 1993 - 2010.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 24 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening 14 ft, bottom of last opening 24 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 1,716.7 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: 3 SAW CUTS IN TOP OF CASING. Painted orange, 0.95 ft above land-surface datum, Aug. 24, 1989 to Nov. 21, 1989; 3 sawcuts in top of casing. Painted orange. Casing extended, 3.35 ft above land-surface datum, Nov. 21, 1989 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 1989 to current year.
GAGE - Water-level recorder collecting data at 15-minute intervals. Satellite telemetry at station.
REMARKS - Well is part of the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources groundwater network. Well was redeveloped May 2015 and total depth increased from 23 to 24 ft after removal of accumulated sediment.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 0.41 ft above land-surface datum, February 26, 1992; lowest water level recorded, 15.19 ft. below land-surface datum, Nov. 29, 2016.
