  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

USGS Water-Year Summary 2024
05406469 BREWERY CREEK-UPSTREAM SITE-AT CROSS PLAINS, WI
LOCATION - Lat 43°07'31", long 89°38'06" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.35, T.8 N., R.7 E., Dane County, WI, Hydrologic Unit 07070005, on right bank south of last house on the south side of Laufenberg Blvd., Cross Plains, WI. Gage house is located in clearing next to a detention pond, visible from Laufenberg Blvd.
DRAINAGE AREA - 10.1 mi² of which 2.80 mi² probably is noncontributing.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1999 to September 2002, June 2014 to current year.
GAGE - October 1999 to September 2002, water stage recorder located 200 ft. downstream of current gage location. Datum of gage is 900 ft above NAVD 88, from topographic map.
REMARKS - For the 2015 water year, records are good except for estimated daily discharges, which are fair. Gage-height telemeter at station.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Precipitation: June 2014 to current year
INSTRUMENTATION - Waterlog H-340 rain gage June 12, 2014 to current year.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - PRECIPITATION: Maximum daily, 2.86 inches, September 4, 2014.
REMARKS - --Snowfall/ice that melts in the funnel is interpreted as snowmelt and is removed from the record and shown as estimated days. Records are good except for estimated days, which are fair. All unit values and daily values are stored in ADAPS. WY15 Calibrations were made on 05/08/2015 and 11/16/2015. A Nova-Lynx rain gage calibrator (946 ml) with the smallest nozzle size was used to determine accuracy of the rain gage. Calibration takes approximately 40 minutes, with an expected rainfall amount of 1.14”, for an average rate of 1.7” per hour. The 05/08 calibration yielded 1.157” (<1% high) and the 11/16 calibration yielded 1.18" (<3% high), so no data corrections were made. All calibrations were removed from the precipitation record and the days were write protected. Snowfall/ice that melts in the funnel is interpreted as snowmelt and is removed from the record and shown as estimated days. Days interpreted as snowmelt include 01/03-01/04, 01/15, 01/17, 01/22, 01/24, 01/28, 02/06-02/07, 03/01-03/02, and 03/24.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 1999 to October 2002 at location 200 ft. downstream of current location, temperature and Total Suspended Solids data were collected. July 2014 to September 2014 at current location, temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, Total Suspended Solids, and Total Phosphorus have been collected.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - WATER TEMPERATURE: October 1999 to September 2002 and July 2014 to current year. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: July 2014 to September 2014. DISSOLVED OXYGEN: July 2014 to September 2014. TURBIDITY: July 2014 to September 2014. TOTAL PHOSPHORUS DISCHARGE: June 2014 to current year. TOTAL SUSPENDED SOLIDS DISCHARGE: June 2014 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Stage-activated water-quality sampler June 12, 2014 to September 30, 2014. Water temperature recorder July 23, 2014 to September 30, 2014. Specific conductance recorder July 23, 2014 to September 30, 2014. Dissolved oxygen recorder July 23, 2014 to September 30, 2014. Turbidity recorder July 23, 2014 to September 30, 2014.
REMARKS - Chemical analyses are by the Dane-Iowa Waste Water Treatment Facility Laboratory.
