LOCATION - Lat 41°02'54", long 81°00'05" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Mahoning County, OH, Hydrologic Unit 05030103, on the right bank 200 ft downstream from Berlin Dam, 2 mi northeast of Deerfield, and 3.2 mi northwest of Berlin Center.
DRAINAGE AREA - 248 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 743: 1932. WSP 853: 1936. WSP 873: 1932-34, 1935(M), 1936-38. WSP 1907: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1930 to September 1991. Prior to October 1942, published as "near Berlin Center". October 2009 to current year.
GAGE - New gage was installed on the right bank, approximately 400 feet upstream from old gage location, during the Fall of 2014, and put into use on May 15, 2015. New gage utilizes the same control pool, concrete weir, and gage datum as former site. Datum of gage is 957.72 ft (NAVD 1988) (levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). Prior to Oct. 1, 2010, datum of gage was published as 958.00 ft (NGVD 1929) (levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). Prior to Oct. 1, 1942, at site 1.8 mi upstream at datum 966.15 ft (1912 adjustment), levels by Mahoning Valley Sanitary District. Oct. 1, 1942 to May 11, 1949, at site 200 ft downstream from present site at datum 950.00 ft (NGVD 1929).
REMARKS - Flow regulated by a dam since Dec. 1942. Occasional small diversion during drought periods; diversion not included in figures of daily discharge. Water-quality data formerly collected at this site. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers satellite telemeter at station.  
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge 8,630 ft³/s, gage height 10.97 ft, Jan. 25, 1937.

INSTRUMENTATION - Temperature probe. Electronic data logger set for 15 minute logging interval, with hourly transmissions.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum, 26.9 °C, Aug. 29 and 31, 2010; minimum, -0.22°C December 25, 2022.
