LOCATION - Lat 33°49'02.7", long 84°28'49.2" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Fulton County, GA, Hydrologic Unit 03130002, at Georgia Power Plant entrance at the boat ramp, 0.6 miles upstream from Norfolk-Southern Railway bridge, 1.7 miles downstream from Peachtree Creek, and at mile 298.8.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,590 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-US-2011: 2010.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -
DISCHARGE: March 1981 to current year.
GAGE HEIGHT: October 1998 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite telemetry with a water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 736.6 feet above North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988.
COOPERATION - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District.
REMARKS - Gage-height records are generally good. Discharge records are generally fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor.  Additional details on the accuracy of the records can be obtained by contacting the USGS South Atlantic Water Science Center at gs-w-ga_nwisweb_data_inquiries@usgs.gov.

Flow regulated by Lake Sidney Lanier. Considerable diurnal fluctuation caused by the operation of the Morgan Falls hydroelectric plant.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of April 13, 1979, reached a stage of 30.71 feet from flood marks, discharge, 32,000 cfs.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge recorded, 42,300 cfs, September 21, 2009; maximum gage-height recorded, 35.98 feet, September 21, 2009; minimum daily discharge, 768 cfs, November 11, 2001.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 2001 to September 2007 and October 2008 to September 2009.
