LOCATION - Lat 33°14'39.41", long 79°59'28.69" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Berkeley County, SC, Hydrologic Unit 03050201, Gage is located at power plant 0.7 mi upstream from Seaboard Coast Line Railroad bridge and 2.8 mi northwest of Pinopolis. Gage is located inside the Jefferies Hydro power generation facility. 
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate
REVISIONS HISTORY - The station name was changed on Aug. 31, 2023, which was originally LAKE MOULTRIE NEAR PINOPOLIS, SC (TAILRACE).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1988 to current year. Data prior to October 1988 are in the files of the U.S. Geological Survey.
GAGE - Stage Recorder with Satellite Telemetered Data collection platform. Datum of gage is 0.98 ft below NAVD 88 based on Level II GPS RTN survey performed on Dec 12, 2022 using a Temporary RM tied into RM's 3 and 8 on site.

Previous datum of gage is 5.00 ft below NGVD of 1929. Prior to Mar. 17, 1986, at same site at datum 5.0 ft lower.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum gage height, 14.29 ft, October 5, 2015; minimum gage height, 1.78 ft, Mar. 14, 1993. Gage height affected by tide and regulation from Lake Moultrie (see station 02172000).
