LOCATION - Lat 39°18'25", long 74°49'14" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Upper Township, Cape May County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02040302, on right bank at highway bridge on State Route 49, 0.2 mi upstream from McNeals Branch, 0.4 mi southeast of Head of River, and 3.7 mi west of Tuckahoe.
DRAINAGE AREA - 30.8 mi².

GAGE - Water-stage recorder with telemetry monitors stage above and below wooden control. Water-stage recorder below control since October 2003. Tidal crest-stage gage below control. Datum of gage is 0.00 ft NGVD of 1929.
REMARKS - Records good, except for estimated discharges, which are fair. Occasional regulation by ponds above station. Stage-discharge relationship can be affected by variable-stage backwater from tide. The water-stage recorder below control at station is used when variable stage backwater conditions exist.
