LOCATION - Lat 39°22'40", long 74°25'25" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Atlantic City, Atlantic County, NJ, Hydrologic Unit 02040302, elevated on aluminum support structure at U.S. Coast Guard Station Atlantic City on Clam Creek, 400 ft south of Absecon Channel, in Atlantic City, 2,200 ft southeast of the south end of bridge on State Route 87 over Absecon Channel, 1.3 mi northwest of Absecon Inlet, and 3.3 mi southwest of Brigantine city hall.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Unpublished fragmentary gage-height record, Jun 16, 1997 to Jun 17, 2000. Continuous-record tide gage, Jun 18, 2000 to current year.
GAGE - Tide elevation, water temperature, precipitation, air temperature, relative humidity, air pressure, wind speed, and wind direction recorder with telemetry and tidal crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is at 0.00 ft NAVD of 1988. To determine approximate elevations to NGVD of 1929, add 1.33 ft.
REMARKS - Periods of missing data are noted by dashed (---) lines.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Peak on Mar 6 or 7, 1962 reached an elevation of 7.7 ft, adjusted to present datum, from high-water mark at the U.S. Coast Guard Station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum elevation, 7.81 ft, Oct 29, 2012; minimum elevation, estimated, -5.5 ft, Feb 17, 2007, although a lower tide may have occurred during period of missing record Mar 9, 2005.
