EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Mar. 12, 1936 reached a stage of 11.2 ft., as determined from floodmarks by city engineers of Hartford, discharge about 2,800 ft³/s.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 10,000 ft³/s, Aug. 19, 1955, from rating curve extended above 1,600 ft³/s on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow 2.6 mi. upstream; maximum gage height, 18.8 ft., Aug. 19, 1955, from flood marks. Instantaneous low flow, 0.04 ft³/s, Sep. 24, 25, 1943 and minimum daily discharge of 0.04 ft³/s, Sep. 24, 1943 were the result of regulation.
