- For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
- For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
- For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
- Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

LOCATION - Lat 42°38'03", long 71°39'30" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Middlesex County, MA, Hydrologic Unit 01070004, on left bank 0.7 mi downstream from Trout Brook and 2.7 mi northwest of West Groton.
DRAINAGE AREA - 65.9 mi² of which 2.20 mi² probably is noncontributing. net above gage is 63.7 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR MA-RI-84-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Discharge: October 1949 to current year. Water-quality records: water year 1957.
GAGE - Data Collection Platform with satellite telemeter. Datum of gage is 243.50 ft above NAVD 1988. Prior to May 13, 2020, datum of gage reported as 244.27 ft above NGVD 1929.
COOPERATION - Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, Office of Water Resources.
REMARKS - Records good except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Occasional regulation at low flow by mill upstream; regulation greater prior to 1961. Entire flow from 2.20 mi² upstream from outlet of Ashby Reservoir diverted for municipal supply of Fitchburg except for occasional periods of spillage.
