USGS Water-Year Summary 2024
01021060 ST. CROIX RIVER AT CALAIS, MAINE
LOCATION - Lat 45°11'29.97", long 67°17'00.32" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Washington County, ME, Hydrologic Unit 01050001, at mouth of St. Croix River, downstream side of Main Street bridge, at Calais.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,454 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - The gage height for Oct. 26, 2015 through Dec. 31, 2016 was revised on March 3, 2018, based on an incorrect offset in the data collection platform. As part of this revision, the maximum recorded gage height in the Extremes for Period of Record was also revised.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - GAGE HEIGHT: October 2015 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is at North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
REMARKS - Gage height affected by ocean tides. Gage height data are measured down from the bridge deck and not using historical methods from the water pressure above a defined point in the river. Therefore, water level data will read higher when ice is present on the water surface. Gaps in record indicate missing data.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum recorded gage-height, 15.64 ft, Apr. 8, 2016; minimum recorded gage-height, -12.33 ft, June 16, 2018.
