Station gage imageSTATION.--01478120 EAST BRANCH WHITE CLAY CREEK AT AVONDALE, PA
LOCATION.--Lat 39`49'42", long 75`46'52", Chester County, Hydrologic Unit 02040205, at Third Street bridge in Avondale Borough, 2,000 ft upstream from State Route 41.
DRAINAGE AREA.--11.3 square miles.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 2007 to current year. Ungaged Chester County Biological Monitoring site since 1969.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and water-quality monitor. Datum of gage is 264.65 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988, from single-base GNSS static survey. Prior to March 10, 2022, the datum of gage was erroneously reported as 270 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
COOPERATION.--Funding for this station is provided by the Chester County Water Resources Authority, the Chester County Emergency Management Services, the U.S. Geological Survey.
This station managed by the PAWSC Downingtown Field Office.
